I am a Sussex based designer, maker and basket weaver. My specialism in basketry has drawn on my professional experience and education in design and craft. My connection with the natural world and desire to live and work in a sustainable way, has led me to work increasingly with natural and local materials. Having worked in a variety of design, research and craft led practices I have gained a broad knowledge of vernacular materials and processes. I currently split my time between making bespoke orders for clients, teaching basketry workshops and work part time at Studio Amos. I completed an apprenticeship with Annemarie O’Sullivan (of Studio Amos) through QEST funding. My training and professional experience at Studio Amos in basketry has given me a thorough and creative grounding in weaving.

I have a strong interest in community education and have taught various design and making workshops in the UK and South Africa. These workshops have given me a greater understanding of how design and making can have a positive impact on people and their communities. I believe the processes of making and weaving are innate and to forge a career within craft and to pass on the skills I have learnt to others continues to be a privilege.

I strive for my work to reflect my personal style and interest in functional, understated products, taking inspiration from historic, global crafts.
